The 12th Nordic Conference on Bilingualism (NCB12)

We are inviting proposals for presentations at The 12th Nordic Conference on Bilingualism (NCB12), to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, June 10–12, 2020. The conference is organized by the Centre for Research on Bilingualism, and the venue will be Campus Frescati, Stockholm University.

The NCB12 policy concerning the Corona/Covid-19 virus is currently as follows:

Since the conference is almost 3 months away, we will, at this point, avoid making hasty decisions about cancellation. Being incurable optimists, we’re hoping that the virus situation will change for the better during the next two months. If the situation has gone back to normal, or close to normal, with national and international travel and meeting bans having been lifted by early May, we will go ahead according to plan.

Fees and Registration

Registration is now open.

Call for Abstracts: Extended deadline to 15 January 2020

The presentations of the conference are requested in three formats: (1) oral presentations in parallel sessions, (2) posters, and (3) colloquia. These may or may not address the general conference theme.

Plenary Speakers

Kenneth Hyltenstam, Brigitta Busch, Eric Pakulak, Sari Pietikäinen and Panos Athanasopoulos.

General Conference Theme: X-Disciplinarity in Multilingualism Research

It is a commonplace that bi-/multilingualism is a complex phenomenon that can and should be explored from many angles. This conference seeks to take advantage of this fact by demonstrating the evident value of diverse angles in multilingualism research as well as by interrogating the potentials of x-disciplinarity more generally.
