Overall, the course promotes a critical perspective on education, including the teaching of reading and writing, and evaluates normalized conceptions of teaching for bi- / multilingual individuals. Further questions relate to the ways in which categories such as race, ethnicity, class and gender are attributed value and function as forms of capital in education in different social contexts.
